One of the real joys of this moment is the opportunity to wish everyone the very best for the New Year 2021. 2020 will be a year seared in all our memories as the Covid-19 pandemic has brought so many changes and challenges to our lives. On behalf of Universitas Diponegoro, we are thankful for the support and the rewarding experience shared with our faculty staffs and students even in this unfavorable condition. We are looking forward to experience more with renewed energy in 2021. Please stay safe and stay productive!

2020 Undip’s Academic Collaboration Program
Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) intends to expand the academic collaboration with international academics and practitioners. This program is set to improve the quality of education and learning process as well as providing an international perspective and different experience for the students. In addition this academic collaboration is aims to improve quality of publication and research network for researchers. The collaboration offered many activities such as visiting professors, visiting lecturers, joint supervision, thesis examiners, joint research, joint publications, and keynote speakers for international conferences. Undip and UNICEF join hands for POSYANDU transformation during COVID-19 pandemic
Undip with UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) works together to maximize the Posyandu program to anticipate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nutritional adequacy of children, toddlers and pregnant women. Posyandu Program is an established monthly community-based program in Indonesia that has a role in monitoring the nutrition and health of children, toddlers, elderly and pregnant women conducted in the active participation of society in every village or region. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Posyandu activities were halted. The pandemic creates the multidimensional effect. Not only mobilization, but also economic impact that associated with people’s ability to get good nutrition. As the important role that Posyandu program has in the society, Posyandu needs to transform so that it can continue to play its role even in pandemic situation. It is hoped that, despite the corona outbreak, the health and well-being of children is maintained, and pregnant women remain healthy and give birth to healthy babies. In the context of Posyandu transformation, collaboration is needed in five sectors, namely the government for its policies, academia and universities in terms of thought and solutions offered, the private sector, the community and the mass media.
Undip Invented Robot to Assist Medical Personnel in Treating COVID-19 Patients
The midst of the Corona COVID-19 pandemic Universitas Diponegoro invent a robot to assist medical personnel in treating COVID-19 patients. Through the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) and CBIOM3S the robot was tested. The existence of this robot can reduce contacts between the medical personnel with COVID-19 patients which will also reduce the possibility of virus transmissions to the medical personnel. The function of this robot is to deliver medicines, foods and other needs to patients, as well as communication between patients and nurses and between patients and families. It also helps nurses and doctors examine patients. For the above purposes, the robot is equipped with a rack to carry food, drinks, medicine and clothing and other necessities to patients who are treated in the room. The robot is also equipped with monitor and camera for two-way communication between patients and nurses or doctors. It also equipped with wireless control technology. This robot is also equipped with disinfectant booths that can be used to clean robots after use. The team also consisted of Dr. Rifky Ismail ST MT, Andreas Arie, SpPD-KKV, Dr. Penanti Julianti MKes SpKFR, Dr. Dr. Hermina Sukmaningtyas MKes SpRad-K and Rofiq C Prayoga, ST. During this trial, the robot is instructed to walk into the treated patient room. The robot serves patients by bringing a number of patient needs, such as medicine and food. It appears the patient managed to receive the items carried by the robot. Meanwhile, the nurse monitors and communicates with patients through monitor in the robot.
Lecture of Tropical Infectious Diseases Focusing on Leprosy and Tuberculosis
Infectious Diseases Course delivered by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro with the title Lecture of Tropical Infectious Diseases Focusing on Leprosy and Tuberculosis. This course aims to introduce medical students from outside Indonesia, especially those from developed sub-tropical countries, to health problems and handling tropical infections in Indonesia. Indonesia, which is located on the equator and has a tropical climate, is the best place to study various diseases. Tropical infection cases, especially tuberculosis and leprosy, still become the top diseases to overcome in term of the numbers of patients. The course on tropical infectious diseases was conducted for about 4 weeks on 2-30 October 2020 via MOOCS (Massive Open Online Courses) platform.
Ergonomic Lecture and Research Topics in Faculty of Public Health
Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Diponegoro organized Visiting Professor Program in the theme of Ergonomic, and Heat Stress. This program invited Thomas E Bernard, Ph.D from College of Public Health, University of South Florida as the speaker. The program consist of lecture series which was held on 21-22 September 2020 moderated by Hanifa M. D., Ph.D. via zoom platform. The lecture series discussed importance of ergonomic and heat stress in the occupational safety and health management system. The lectures also giving a new perspectives to the participants about the new research topic in the area of ergonomic and heat stress that can be related to the health and safety, job satisfaction and productivity of employer.
PSYCHE International Summer Course 2020
PSYCHE International Summer Course is back this year. The annual program organized by the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Diponegoro was held on 5-14 October 2020. This year the PSYCHE 2020 was carried out virtually using ZOOM and Undip’s MOOCs platforms. With the theme “Unlocking A Joyful and Meaningful Life: An East-West Way”, PSYCHE 2020 invited the summer course participants to process themselves to unlock the happiness that is already in each of them. In addition to Western Psychology, the Approach of Eastern Psychology was also introduced especially in the context of local Indonesian wisdom in the field of psychology so that participants gained knowledge and skills in increasing happiness through the integration of rich and interesting Eastern and Western Psychology approaches. At the initial launch, the PSYCHE 2020 program gained many local and international participants with more than 200 registered applicants. However, only 26 participants had selected and verified and got the opportunity to participate in the full series of programs. Participants of this summer course come from various countries, including: China, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Algeria, and Indonesia. During the ten-day summer course, participants were introduced to various concepts of Psychology that are beneficial for self-growth, ranging from body-and-mind relaxation, meditation, autosuggestion (self-hypnosis), psychology of emptiness, mindfulness, Sufi psychology, to Javanese meditation.
Webinar SDGs Series 2020 Faculty of Psychology UNDIP
Faculty of Psychology Universitas Diponegoro organized webinar series related to SDGs via Zoom on July 23rd 2020, August 13th and 27th, 2020. The first webinar carried a theme on Building Resilience in Everyday Life. While the second webinar discussed how to Improving Student’s Academic Performance, Career Development and Well-being, and the last webinar carried a theme on Family, Health and Well-being. These webinars also aimed to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The speakers of the webinars were the experts of psychology from Indonesia and Diaspora, and the stakeholder of related institution. These webinars were also recorded in Faculty of Psychology UNDIP Youtube channel for more impact to the society.
